There are obviously limitation, specifically you can only use x amount of y units at a time and you need to build special buildings to increase each cap and so on, so it's not like you can field a full tier 5 army right away, in fact it might be harder/impossible to field the stupid stacked armies you can do for other factions as a result of this mechanic(like Karl Franz and his 19steam tanks and such), but it's pretty cool anyway and is very lore friendly.Īnother lore friendly thing is that you cannot confederate Settra, because Settra does not serve. Since in the lore, their army are immortal and serve their king even in death, you can simply raise your army for free. Don't go beyond that unless you have played the game and know you will be palying it for 100s of hours.Īnother interesting mechanic for Tomb Kings they mentionned on their stream is that TKs do not need to buy units or pay upkeep for them. Only buy what interests you! At most buy one game and one DLC. This ME campaign is a bit buggy and still lacks part of game 1 (like norsca and some RoR)įor me the game is well worth the price (i have 500h on WH1 and around 130 on WH2), for me it takes around 15-30h to "complete" a campaign but as any game it might not be for you so you shouldn't buy every DLC the game has. To play on the ME campaign you need to own both WH1 and WH2. The ME campaign lets you play as any faction not only from WH2 but also from the previous game IF you own it. WH2 currently has a special campaign called Mortal empires which merges map of game 1 + huge parts of game 2. Looking at the whole picture, it has to be stated that WH1 is vastly more polished then WH2 however WH2 has some QoL upgrades that make it hard to go back. If you want to get in on the warhammer trilogy (yes there will be a 3rd 60$ game) then i'd say that WH1 is the best point of entry. Let's say you want to play norsca then you need to buy WH1 and norsca DLC If you after a few campaigns like the game THEN is when you should look at further DLC. If you are a warhammer fan of X faction you should buy the game that lets play that then go from there.
In fact i'd advise against buying everything at the same time so you don't get "content shock". The only reason to get the DLC is if you want to play as that DLC faction. Basically the AI play like it has all DLC. For example lets say that you buy WH1, you will have norsca, beastmen,chaos and WE as the enemy. Without the DLC you will still be playing against all factions. Do notice that you don't need to buy the DLC.
